Dare You

So I've been needing a little bit of change lately. As a woman, sometimes all you need is a new lipstick... (my apologies to any male readers....)

It's all about your own perception of yourself. Luckily, the brand of makeup that I choose to wear has a recycling program. You take in 6 empty containers from their line, they reward you with a free tube of lipstick. I think in the past 8 years, I've only had to lay down money once to dress up my mouth.

And of course it gives me the opportunity to play with the Olympus PL-2 fit with the toy lens from the PhotoJojo store.

So, anyway... what I've apparently been needing is red. Yes, that kind of red.
Thank you MAC... I needed that!

To Retouch or Not to Retouch...

... that is my question when I'm doing a self-portrait. Is it more honest to leave all the blemishes when you're exploring who and what you are or is it okay to soften things a little?

Even when you have 20/20 or better vision, don't you really gaze upon others (and yourself) with an emotional filter? Hmmm... that's my conundrum as I work on my latest project.

What do you think?...

On a Roll...

Finally finished the editing on this portrait shoot. I'm very please with how the images turned out.

It reminded me that I've been shooting images but not posting here on the blog... So here are some more of who and what I've been aiming my lens at.

These are a few recent portraits from my last photo blast at Lotus Studios. The studio had to restructure so now I'm looking for new studio space where I can host dance shoots... I've got a few ideas...
